Our Story
The two owners of Built Right Roofing & Construction are Andy Hoover and Jake Hofer. Andy is an experienced construction business owner with over 20 years' experience. He began doing high end finish carpentry jobs in California before relocating to South Dakota. In South Dakota Andy has worked in building material distribution and ran production departments for a roofing company and for a home builder. Jake is from Rapid City and has experience in multiple phases of the local roofing industry for 15+ years beginning as a crew laborer, material distribution, roofing sales, to ownership. The name Built Right was re-enforced on one of their first projects. Andy and Jake were building a deck and continuously said to each other “That’s ok, but Is that Built Right?”. This set the tone for the company, as our own version of “do the right thing, even when nobody’s watching” we always ask ourselves “is that Built Right?”.
